Know a refugee entrepreneur? Tell them about us
You might know someone we would never find on our own. The best way to help is to tell them about the fund yourself, so they can find out more and apply if it's right for them.
Who to tell
You don't need to work in investment or venture capital to refer someone. Caseworkers, teachers, employers, community organisers, people running refugee and migrant services, and entrepreneurs themselves: if you know a refugee entrepreneur starting or growing a business in the UK, tell them about us.
The best people to tell are the ones you've seen do something: run a project, hold a community together, or keep going when it was hard.
How it works
- Pick a message. Copy it, or share it in one tap. Change the words as much as you like.
- Send it to them yourself. The message links to our page for entrepreneurs, which explains who can apply and how it works.
- They decide. If it's right for them, they apply. Sending a message gives us none of their details, so we won't contact them unless they apply.

Hi, I came across the Refugee Venture Fund and thought of you straight away. It's a UK fund that offers venture capital to entrepreneurs with lived experience of forced displacement. It invests £25,000 to £100,000 in businesses that could grow quickly, and it comes with 12 months of coaching and the chance to pitch at its Showcase. I think your business could be a good fit. This page explains who can apply and what venture capital means, so you can decide whether it's right for you: https://refugeeventure.fund/en/founders Best wishes
Before you send it
- Send it to people you think could be a good fit, not to everyone you know. Two people you know well are better than twenty you have only heard of.
- This is venture capital, so it suits businesses that want to grow quickly. A steady local business is usually better served by a loan or a grant.
- If the business is your own, you don't need a referral: apply yourself.
Your privacy, and theirs
We do not ask you for anyone's name or contact details. The message goes from you to them, through your own apps, and we never see it or who you sent it to. The link in each message is a plain link to our website, with nothing added to track who shared it.
Are you the entrepreneur?
If you're thinking of applying yourself, start with the page for entrepreneurs.
